Stephen Cogar

July 2, 1995 — December 4, 2017

Stephen Matthew Cogar, 22 of Bolair, tragically went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Monday morning, December 4, 2017 from smoke inhalation caused from a fire at Webster County Department of Highways Headquarters.

Stephen was born July 02, 1995 in Charleston to his loving parents Steve and Sue Mullens Cogar of Bolair. He attended Elk Valley Chapel and was a former employee for Gil Crowe and J&S Hydraulic. He lived his life serving God and to hunt; bear hunting was his favorite. He loved fishing, especially bow fishing, playing basketball and baseball, and riding his rzr with all his best buds while jamming some tunes. He enjoyed camping, boating, riding his jet-ski with his lake crew, spending time with his family and friends at his favorite vacation spot Dollywood/Splash Country in Pigeon Forge, TN, always doing it while having a HUGE smile on his face.

Left to cherish his loving memory are his wonderful, loving parents; his one and only sister/best friend Elizabeth “Tank” (husband Dalton) McCourt of Bolair; grandparents Alva and Alice Mullens of Cowen and Bonnie Cogar of Bolair; two uncles, Eddie and Danny Mullens, both of Cowen. He also leaves behind his cousin/best friend Jenna Cogar of Bolair and so many loving family members and tons of wonderful friends. He never met a stranger and always had a smile. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Alva Cogar.

Friends may join the family for visitation and sharing of memories on Friday, December 08, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Hall and Pastor Doy Carpenter officiating. Stephen will be laid to rest in Donaldson Cemetery, Cowen.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.doddreedfh.com.

Dodd & Reed Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Cogar family.
