Sandra Dianne Hickman McCourt, 67 of Webster Springs entered into rest on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at United Hospital Center. Born January 24, 1954 in Richwood, she was the daughter of the late Albert Luther and Elsie Vaughn Mason Hickman.
She lived most of her life in Webster County and was a Jehovah’s Witness Pioneer. She loved the Florida Beach, being outdoors in the spring and the fall, and enjoyed going to the Webster Nursing & Rehab Center in Cowen to read the Bible to the residents. She worked in Special Education and enjoyed rehabilitating the children she worked with. She was very proud of her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband George W. McCourt, Jr.; son Jamiescott McCourt; grandson Johnathan Alexander McCourt; brother Bill Mason; mother and father-in-law Minnie and Winfred McCourt; and sister-in-law Rosemary Hickman.
She is survived by her sons Jereamiah (Kristie) McCourt of Webster Springs and Johnathan McCourt of Cowen; daughter Judy (Richard) Oshea of Charleston; step-daughter Angela Jordan; grandchildren Jamilynn McCourt, Jereamiah James McCourt, Rebecca (Matt) Munger of NC, Harley (Chris) Nelson of KY, Alexus McCourt of Camden on Gauley, Peyton McCourt of Camden on Gauley, and Sarah Annalise McCourt of Upperglade; step-grandchildren Zach and Zarron Jordan; great-grandchildren Noah and Neveah McCourt, Jayden Munger, and Bentley Nelson step-great-grandchild Makenna Jordan; former husband and friend Bill Hatley; brothers and sisters John (Betty) Hickman, Franklin Mason, David (Janice) Mason, Carol Knight, Mike (Teresa) Mason, and Larry Mason; best friend and caregiver Cathy Williams; dog Harley; and many other extended family and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Friends may join the family for visitation two hours prior to service time at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.
