Hacker Valley

Zelma Lee Fisher, 75 of Hacker Valley, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025.

Zelma lived a life full of love and adventure alongside her husband, Terry Fisher, for 55 years. Together they welcomed children, traveled, explored nature, and built a life they loved.

Zelma will be remembered as the best wife, mother, and grandmother anyone could have ever asked for. She taught us kindness, compassion, and how to find the magic in the most mundane. She had a love for the outdoors, animals, riding four wheelers, and her family and spent countless hours enjoying them. She was an amazing writer and storyteller and could be found telling her grandchildren bedtime stories at night. Her most popular story to tell was about dreamland in which we would all choose what we would ride to dreamland on. She usually chose a falling autumn leaf. I know she chose something even more fantastic this time.

Zelma will be welcomed into Heaven by not only God, but her Mother and Father, Ruth Hubbard and William Lake; her nephew, Dustin Brown; her father and mother-in-law Paul and Hope Fisher; her sister-in-law Viola Fisher; and loads of wagging tails eagerly waiting for her.

Grieving alongside her husband Terry, she also leaves behind her children: Sherry Valure, Chris Fisher and his wife Buffy Fisher; her granddaughters: Shala Barnette (Mark) and Selena Strong (Nathan); her great-grandchildren: Elijah, Jace, Mason, Isabelle, Brooklynn, and Natalie; her sister Reta Brown (Gary); her brothers: Charley Lake (Shelly) and Lonnie Lake (Robin); her brothers-in-law: Danny Fisher (Sandy), Ben Fisher (Katie), and Timothy Fisher (Sherry); several nieces and nephews; an honorary granddaughter, Mo Rebrook; and many other family members and friends.

She has chosen to be cremated and her ashes scattered in the forest where she spent the majority of her days. Although our family is left broken, we know that this next adventure will be her favorite yet.
