William Nichols

October 29, 1929 — April 11, 2017

William Ronald “Ronnie” Nichols, 87 of Webster Springs went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at WVU Hospital Ruby Memorial, after a long illness. He was born October 29, 1929 in Webster County to Blair and Narabel Tanner Nichols. He married Madeline Chapman Nichols on February 01, 1963. He loved electric and was an avid HAM radio operator for over 50 years, call sign W8VUR. He enjoyed riding his 1936 Harley, which was his prize possession.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Madeline Chapman Nichols; son William Timothy (wife Jackie) Nichols; granddaughter Jennifer (husband Rodney) Carpenter; great-grandchildren Timothy and Zephina Carpenter; brother Richard Nichols; sister Louise Comer; sister-in-law Dorothy Nichols; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Hansford Nichols; parents; brother Robert Nichols; and sister-in-law Frances Nichols.

Funeral Services to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Bender officiating. Interment will follow in Holly River Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial Contributions be made to Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, 155 McGraw Avenue, Webster Springs, WV 26288 to assist the family with Funeral Arrangements.
