William Russell “Bill” Lawson age 70 of Webster Springs passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a sudden illness.  Bill was born April 16, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH and was the son of the late Adrian and Dallas Mullis Lawson.  Bill was one of triplets, Barbara and Bobby and was raised by his aunt Francis Forsee.

Bill spent 10 years of his life on a river boat on the Ohio River and the streets of Cincinnati before moving here to Webster Springs with his wife Joyce Cutlip Lawson in October 2001.  He loved music, sports, especially his Ohio State Buckeyes; he loved people and making them laugh, loved life and mostly loved his Lord Jesus Christ.  He taught himself to play piano at the age of two and played Elvis Presley’s “Teddy Bear” as his first song. Bill loved to sing with Joyce and they enjoyed visiting different churches in Webster Co. and spreading the word of Lord Jesus Christ through his love of music.

Surviving are his loving wife Joyce Cutlip Lawson; sisters, Georgia Harris and her husband Terry  and Caroline Bailey and her husband Bob all of Milford, OH; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who will truly miss him.

Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with Pastor Eddie Bender officiating.  Burial will follow at Dave Cogar Cemetery, Sugar Creek.  Friends may join the family two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations to the funeral home would be appreciated to help with Bill’s final arrangements.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.doddreedfh.com.
