William Heflin

William Robert "Bill" Heflin, 76 of Hacker Valley passed away on December 19, 2011 at Holbrook Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born February 18, 1935 in Washington, DC to William A. and Sadie Heflin and was an Electronics Engineer. He lived the last 20 years in Webster County and attended Independent Baptist Church of Cleveland. He was a graduate of George Washington High School in Alexandria, VA, enjoyed being a do-it-yourselfer, camping, hiking, visiting Sanibel Island, FL and Frankenmuth, MI, and was a general outdoorsman.
Bill is survived by his wife Arletta; daughters Nancy Heflin of Hacker Valley, Janet Watson and husband Robert of Waldorf, MD, and Donna Heflin of Lusby, MD; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Cosner officiating. Interment will follow in Cutlip Cemetery, Hacker Valley.
