William Hansford "Moose" McCourt

William Hansford “Moose” McCourt, 68 of Webster Springs, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born February 19, 1957 in Richwood to the late Hansford and Georgie Kidd McCourt. He was a United States Army Veteran and a truck driver.

He was a member of the Marshall University Alumni and enjoyed watching Marshall and WVU football. He loved motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson. He was a jokester; always kidding around and aggravating his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his biological son, Hansford Moses; brother Matthew Bruce; granddaughter Dacoda McCourt; and his beloved dog Taylor.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Joey McCourt, Shon (Danielle) McCourt, Todd McCourt, and Joseph Moses; grandchildren: Mason, Madison, Kendall, Corey, Josh, Lucas, Darius, Raelynn, and Carter McCourt and Jackson and Scarlett Moses; great-grandson Malakai Boone; sisters: Rose Kelley and Elizabeth Mehalko; special friends: Ricky (Tiff) Jordan, Allen “HoBo” Lee, and Kara McIntosh; and his loving dog Remington.

Friends may join the family for a Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, where memories of Bill “Moose” will be shared.
