Wesley Andrew Hamrick, 81 of Webster Springs went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013 at Webster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 25, 1931 in Bergoo to Adam and Ada Cummings Hamrick. He was a lifelong resident of Webster Springs. He worked for Pardee & Curtin Lumber Company, Hamer Lumber Company, WV Department of Highways, and Appalachian Power Company. He was Protestant by faith and attended the Elk Valley Chapel in Cherry Falls when he was able. Wesley was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. He was a meek and kind person who loved playing music in his younger days, especially the family organ. He loved to hunt, fish, play horseshoes, and attend family reunions.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Woodson and Wilton Hamrick; sisters Lula Hamrick, Fannie Blackwell, and Fern Pigott. He is survived by his son Paul (Judi) Hamrick of Medina, OH; brothers Wetzel (Betty) Hamrick of Good Hope, Wilson (Joyce) Hamrick of Middletown, OH, Wilbert (Mary) Hamrick of Clarksburg, and Woody (Aritha) Hamrick of Lumberport; sisters Flora Wright of Lyndhurst, VA, Fay (Wayne) Gerrard of Clarksburg, Frances (Nathan) Allen of Clarksburg, and Fonda Wyatt (fiancAC.' George Allen Harrison) of Webster Springs; the mother of his son Janet (Daniel) Wright of Elkins; step-grandchildren Tammy Sanders of Medina and T.J. May of North Ridgeville, OH; four step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM with Rev. Doy Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Thomas/Adam Hamrick Cemetery, Bergoo.
