Virginia Young

Virginia Blanche Young, 82, widow of Howard Walter Young, passed away, surrounded by her family on July 29, 2011 in Cape Coral, Florida. Virginia was born on the 4th of July 1929, at home, in Bolair, Webster County, West Virginia, the daughter of Thomas Burton Price and Virgie Woods. She grew up in Webster County and at age 17 on December 7, 1946, she and Howard were married by John Preston Carpenter at Webster Springs, WV. Two children, Connie Jean and Ronald Jack were born to them in West Virginia and later, after the family moved to Mt. Morris, New York, a third child, Jolene Carol was born. In the 1980s the family moved to Cape Coral, Florida.

Virginia is survived by her children, Connie Jean Adams (John) of Cape Coral, Fl, Ronald Jack Young of North Fort Myers, Fl and Jolene Carol Young (Mary) of Punta Rassa, Fl. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Virginia is also survived by her sister Martha Jean McKinney (James) of Dansville, NY.

Interment will take place at the Woods Family Cemetery in Bolair, Webster County, West Virginia. No services are scheduled at this time, a private family memorial will be held at a later date.  Local Family Services provided by Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs.
