Virginia Rodgers, 76 of Sandy Run Rd., Webster Springs, WV, died suddenly in her home on Jan. 28, 2011.  She was born in Webster County, WV, Oct. 8, 1934, daughter of the late Gordon and Flossie Hammons Ware.  She had lived all her life in Webster County, attended the Sand Run Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, ramp digging, ginsanging and family cookouts.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband:  Ralph Rodgers, Sr., two sons:  Warren and Albert Lee Rodgers, a daughter:  Linda Sue Rodgers, and five brothers and sisters.

Virginia is survived by her companion:  Bobby G. Williams of Bolair, WV, sons:  Ralph Rodgers, Jr. of Craigsville, WV, Raymond Rodgers of Webster Springs, WV, James Rodgers of Bolair, WV, daughters:  Mary Lour McCartney and Kathleen McCartney both of Webster Springs, Rosa Rodgers of Upperglade, WV, and Shirley Smith of Cowen, WV, step sons:  Georg Williams of Cowen, WV, and Patrick Williams of Saw Mill, NC; brother:  Arnell Lee Ware of Camden on Gauley, WV, sisters:  Goldie Chambers, Wilma Tyler, and Jessie Mae Fisher all of Cowen, Rhoda Carpenter  of Webster Springs, Louise Tyler of Bolair, WV, Berniece Ware and Waneta Tracy both of Tennessee, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Green officiating.  Burial will follow in the Woods Cemetery, Bolair.  Friends may call on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home
