Virginia McCourt

Virginia McCourt, 92 of Webster Springs went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 24, 2014 at her home. She was born November 13, 1922 in Richwood to Thurman and Russie Greene Goff and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Webster County and attended United Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed going to church and reading her Bible, and working around her home, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Virginia is survived by her daughters Sylvia (husband George) Carpenter of Cowen and Joyce Blattenberger of Newark, Ohio; sister Betty (husband Warden) Clutter of Webster Springs; grandchildren Sheila (husband Steve) Heist, Steven McCourt, Heather Francher, and Deric (wife Julia) Blattenberger; eight great-grandchildren; many special friends; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Stephen S. McCourt; granddaughter Faith E. McCourt; brothers Paul Goff, Wade Goff, and Dewey Goff; and sisters Gracie McCourt and Bonnie Coffman. Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Virginia's life will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Rounds officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin.
