Violet Hamrick

Violet Irene Hamrick, 87 of Webster Springs passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born March 31, 1927 in Richwood to William H. and Laura Moffatt Williams and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. She was a homemaker, attended Sand Run Baptist Church, and loved her family. She enjoyed crochet and gardening.
Violet is survived by her son Charles W. (wife Alice) Hamrick of Cowen; daughters Karen (husband Charlie) Smith of Tioga, Katherine Jane (husband Denny) Brown of Glenville, Jessica Daniels of Elkins, Brenda (husband Jerry) Holcomb of Dundee, Ohio, Kim (husband Rusty) Conrad of Webster Springs, and Teressa (husband John) Clutter of Upper Glade; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Opal Brady and Polly Vanpelt; and brother Orlas Williams.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Violet's life will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin.
