Trista Shawnay-Lee McIe

Trista Shawnay-Lee McIe “Sweet Pea”, 27 of Rittman, Ohio, formerly of Nicholas County, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Aultman Orrville Hospital in Orrville, Ohio.

She was born February 7, 1998 in Kanawha County to D.L. “Maverick” McIe and the late Tammy M. Bostic McIe.

Trista loved her dogs Dolly and Joey and her cat Minna. She always loved to go fishing with her Dad, taking rides to see the deer, going out in the fall to see the leaves changing color, and hanging out with family, laughing and joking. For the things Trista went through in her life she had a heart like no other and always had a loving smile.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her great-great-grandparents Clarene and Lena McIe; great-great-grandparent Ora Barbe; great-great-grandparent Lela Dorine Cogar; great-grandparents Russel and Eleanor Pomphrey; grandmother Sara J. Bostic; aunt Norma “Squeak” D. McIe; great-uncle Rexell Paul Barbe; and great-aunt Velda Barbe.

She is survived by her father and step-mother D.L. “Maverick” and Melody McIe; grandmother Norma Mitchell; grandfather Charles L. McIe; grandfather Fred E. Bostic; aunt Mary McIe Hiser; uncles: Charles E. McIe (Lori Campbell), David McIe (Kendra Eskins), Danny McIe, and Freddy O. Bostic; great-aunt Nula Ann Shultz; great-uncles Robert (Patricia) Barbe, Ronnie Barbe, and Clarence Jr. McIe; cousins: Preston (Judy) McIe, Duwayne (Jaclyn) Detamore, Jessica Detamore, Karson Detamore, Amanda Hiser, Ezekiel Lovejoy, Bradley Hiser, Sabrina (Beanie) McIe, Patrick Fone, Donnie Troyer, Trisha Graebing, Tina McIe, Sonja McIe Cobb, Abbigail Phillips, Doug McIe, and Joelisa; family friends Rodger and Missy Hamrick; and many other extended family and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services to celebrate Trista’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Eddie Green officiating. Interment will follow in Cogar Cemetery, Desert Fork.

Friends may join the family for visitation one hour prior to service time, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Dodd & Reed Funeral Home to assist the family with costs of arrangements.
