Obituary

Our beautiful young lady, Stephanie Jo Carden went home to see her Mom, Grandma and PapPaw, Uncle Bob and stepdad Bobby, early Saturday morning, August 15, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV after a very brief illness. Death was very unexpected.

Stephanie Jo, 53 years old, was a resident of Richwood, WV.

She was born Tuesday, May 15, 1973, at Richwood, WV the only child of the late Norma Ann Nicholas Jordan. Surviving is her loving companion of six years, Jerry Hammons of Richwood; one brother, Uncle Johnny B. “Butch” Nicholas of Richwood; one sister, Aunt Gloria S. “Cookie” Nicholas-Brown of Elkins; one uncle, Stephen D. “Steve” Nicholas, of Richwood; one great uncle, Clellan Nicholas and wife Shirley of Diamond, OH; lifelong friend, Mike Tharp of Craigsville; good friends, Donnie Mullens of Webster Springs, Tim Holcomb of Richwood; her beloved puppy, Gypsy Rose; and her beloved kitten, Milo.

Preceding her in death are maternal grandparents, Orbie and Wanda P. Marshall Nicholas; one uncle, Robert “Bob” Nicholas. and stepdad, Robert “Bobby” Jordan.

Stephanie Jo was a graduate of Richwood High School, with the Class of 1991 and attended Glenville State College. She enjoyed being a home health aide for several years. She loved all animals. Stephanie Jo “WeeWee” was such a fun person, but she could not keep a secret-just ask Uncle Butch. She liked spending time hunting, walking and country rides with Uncle Butch.

Stephanie Jo will always be loved and greatly missed by her family. She will never be forgotten. Stephanie Jo was the pride and joy of her family and always will be.

Friends may call at the White Funeral Home in Summersville, WV on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Keith Williams will officiate, and interment will follow in the Fields Cemetery at Nettie.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital, 1 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26506.
