Stella Lynn Hinkle Miles, 81 of Webster Springs, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at her home. She was born September 19, 1945 in Glen, WV to the late Lawrence David and Ruby Marie Durham Hinkle.
Lynn was a 1964 graduate of Clay County High School and went on to attend Glenville State College. She was a homemaker and then later in life became Manager at Elk River Terrace Apartments for 20 years.
Lynn was saved on June 10, 1960 and became a member of First Baptist Church of Webster Springs in 1971. She loved singing and always felt honored to be called to the funeral home to sing Beulah Land for her friends and neighbors. She enjoyed going to church, watching TV, reading, crocheting, and knitting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ron Miles; brothers: Dee Hinkle and Leslie Hinkle; and sisters: Margaret Patricia McComas and Norma Lee Price.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Tammy (Mark) Carpenter, Robin (Jimmy) Arthur, and Tony (Sherry) Pottmeyer; sister Joann (Jerry) Dunlap; grandchildren: Chandler (Vanessa) Carpenter, Daniel (Tiffany) Carpenter, Cordell Swisher, Nathanael Arthur, Emily Pottmeyer, and Jenna (Austin) Grooms; great-grandchildren: Keziah Carpenter, Aliyah Carpenter, Zariyah Carpenter, Juniper Carpenter, Lilah Carpenter, Kamerion Church, Colton Nolan, Teagan Nolan, and Benson Carpenter; her loving church family; and many extended family and friends.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs.
Funeral Services to celebrate Lynn’s life will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Frame, Pastor Chris Cosner, and Brother Randy Rader officiating. Interment will follow in Ware Cemetery, Hacker Valley.
