Samuel B. Gallogly, 88 of Cowen passed away on Saturday, December 06, 2014 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. He was born October 30, 1926 in Marcus, Webster County, to Melvin I. and Lillian B. Moffatt Gallogly and was a coal miner for Sewell Coal Company for over 22 years and also worked for Pardee & Curtin. He was a lifelong resident of Webster County and was protestant by faith. He was a member of the Retired Miners and UMWA; enjoyed gardening, mowing grass, farming, helping others, and was an avid walker around Big Ditch Lake. His greatest joy was being a father and grandfather.

Sam is survived by his son Nick (wife Karen) Gallogly of Grafton, Ohio; companion for over 28 years Linda Kolesar of Cowen; son-in-law Sam Brown of Craigsville; sister Mary Ellen Gibon of Rupert; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Judy Brown; brother Elmer; and sister Geraldine.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Adams-Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Sam's life will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Handschumacher Cemetery, Upper Glade.
