Ruth Cochran

April 1, 1939 — June 9, 2019

Ruth Kay Cochran, of Curtin, age 80, born April 1, 1939, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond T. Murphy, and second husband, Harold C. Cochran. Kay was the daughter of Fred and Madrell Lipscomb.

She also is preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Louise Lipscomb, Fred Lipscomb, and Clara Scank. She leaves behind her brother Paul F. Lipscomb; her stepson Barron Cochran; grand-daughter Tiffany Cochran; and great-granddaughter Mariah Harper; along with many nieces and nephews who she adored.

Kay was born in Curtin and graduated from WSHS. She retired from New York State, where she spent her time working with the developmentally disabled, in the healthcare field. This allowed her to continue her passion for helping others after retirement. Kay enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, caring for her animals, and the outdoors.

Kay has touched the lives of so many people through her love and generosity. She will be greatly missed.

In keeping with Kay’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
