Ruth Bennett

Ruth Emogene Quinn Bennett, 86, of Summersville, passed away on Friday, December 08, 2017, at the Summersville Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born December 19, 1930, to Ralph and Gladys Quinn of Hacker Valley, Webster County, WV. Ruth lived most of her life in Bolair, WV and was a homemaker. She loved to listen to bluegrass music, read, and watch TV.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Paul Bennett; son, Michael Wayne Bennett; brothers, Harley Quinn, James Quinn, Everett “Bark” Quinn, Roy Quinn, and Kelso Quinn.
Ruth is survived by sons, Dr. Roger Paul (Susan) Bennett of Webster Springs, Gary K. (Barbara) Bennett, Clyde J. (Debbie) Bennett of Duck, Dale (Beverly) Bennett of Flatwoods; daughters, Cathy (Kenneth) Norman of Summersville, Barbara (Bill) Mellott of Westerville, OH, and Carol (Jerry) Toothman of Fairmont; eleven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl “Buck” Quinn, Robert Quinn and Joe (Pat) Quinn; sister, Vernie “Sue” McKissic; special nieces, Jean, Joan and Connie; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Services to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held 2PM, Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Stacy Dingess officiating.
Friends may join the family for visitation from noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
