Ruby Bright

Ruby Bright, 98 years old, of Webster Springs, WV, departed this world on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at Webster County Continuous Care Center.  She was born in Glenville, WV, July 16, 1915, the daughter of the late Marshall and Ada Mae Greenleaf Barnett.  She lived most of her life in Webster County, was a homemaker.

Ruby was a member of the First Baptist church, Webster Springs, WV where she served at one time on the Bereavement Committee when she was active.  She enjoyed the church services at the Webster Continuous Care Center.  Ruby helped Dana deliver mail to Bergoo, WV for 40 years.  She sold monuments at one time.  She served on the Webster County Election Board for over 50 years.  She was the Webster County Golden Bell for Webster County one year.

She loved to crochet dresses for dolls and made many bed dolls and air freshener dolls and many other craft projects.  She loves going to the Senior Center and Forest Park for senior activities.  At the Webster County Continuous Center she loved the services and singers that came in and loved playing Bingo and Happy Jack and participating in their many activities.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Dana R. Bright, daughter:  Rosalee Faulknier, son:  Elden Harold Bright, sister:  Ruthlee Roby abd brothers:  Howard Barnett, Delbert Barnett, Arden Barnett and Glen Barnett.

She is survived by her son:  Dale (Louella) Bright of Webster Springs, WV, daughters:  Shirley Meadows (companion Rick) of Oakwood Village, OH, and Pamela O'Connor of Springfield, VA ,daughter-in-law:  Delores Bright, 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren.  She leaves behind two wonderful ladies, Midge Hamrick and Edna Anderson who were her best friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Dyer officiating.  Burial will follow at the Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs, WV.  Friends may call on Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
