A soul found its way to Heaven. Ronald Fred Miles passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, March 7, 2016. He was born in Webster County on January 5, 1946 to the late Ray Basil Miles and Erma Edna Bender. Ron was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Lynn Miles; stepmother Sara Miles; and stepsister Stella Stout.
Ron is survived by his wife Lynn Miles that cherishes the time they shared together. Also by his children Kevin Davis, Crystal Manzie, and Bridget Parrish; and Lynn’s children Tammy (Mark) Carpenter and Robin (Jimmy) Arthur who considered Ron so much more than a stepdad; brother Bobby Miles; step-brother, Ray Williams; a very special double first cousin Kitty Evans; eleven grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.
Ron served his country ten years in the United States Army, 31 months of which were spent in Vietnam. He was always a soldier and ready to help his fellow veterans. Ron was a carpenter by trade and hobby. He loved woodworking and making projects to make people happy.
Ron was a Christian and a Baptist. He fought the good fight, he finished the course and he kept the faith.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Ron’s life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Webster Springs with Rev. Steve White and Rev. Chris Cosner officiating. Message in song will be brought by Rev. Larry Cochran. Interment with military honors will follow in Ware Cemetery, Hacker Valley.
