Robert L. "Leo" Pugh, 75 of Webster Springs passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born September 17, 1937 in Fairview to Arlie T. and Orpha Cogar Pugh and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. He retired from the United States Army after serving 25 years in the 82nd Airborne and also from Brooks Run Coal Company after working 19 years as a Security Guard. He was a member of the Addison-McLaughlin VFW Post 3738 and Webster Springs Masonic Lodge; was an avid bowler, loved hunting and fishing, and always enjoyed getting away on the Rhino. He was a loving Papaw to his grandchildren whom he cherished.
Leo is survived by his wife Betty Jo Lynch Pugh; son Robert L. Jr. and wife Deborah Pugh of Stock Bridge, GA; daughter Kathie and husband Lennox Wellington of Largo, FL; brother Darrell Pugh of Youngstown, OH; grandchildren Karlie Edwards, Rachel and husband Scott Siebert, Crystal Bill, Jessica Young, Jason and wife Michelle Womack, and Tabitha Pugh and husband Ryan Schmutzler; and great-grandchildren Tiffany and Gabrielle Edwards, Payton Bill, Karma Farmer, Alana, Aiden, and Alyssa Siebert, Joseph Altizer, Elizabeth Young, Serenity and Honor Foshay, Shelby Womack, and Burton Schmutzler. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Garland, Keith, James, Charles, and Arlie Pugh; and sisters JoAnn Hamrick and Carol Robinson.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Sam Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Cogar Cemetery, Desert Fork, Webster Springs.
