Richard Bright

January 14, 1942 — June 15, 2018

Richard David Bright, 76 of Webster Springs passed away Friday June 15, 2018.  He was born January 14, 1942 and was the son of the late Elza and Shella Hamrick Bright. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mildred Bright and brothers Delmer and Harley Bright.

Richard worked in the woods somewhere ever since he was 14 years old and he retired from Howard Eugene Cogar Logging.   He was Pentecostal by faith, he enjoyed spending time outdoors and to wave at people as they drove past his home but most of all he loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Vickie Nicely and her husband Homer, Debra Clutter and her husband Darrell and James “Rick” Bright; grandchildren Leigh Anne Lynch and her husband Todd, Andrea Hamrick and her husband Josh, Tish Walker and her husband Jordan and James Hamrick; great grandchildren, Lillian, Gracelyn and Cameron Walker and Somer, Ethan and Jonathan; sisters, Ruth Hines and Dorothy Hamrick and her husband Kerry and also a brother Wayne Bright.

Service will be 1:00 Tuesday June 19, 2018 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with Pastor Gary Walker officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Grassy Creek.  Friends may join the family for visitation two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
