Retis C. House, 83 of Webster Springs passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. He was born July 9, 1930 in Webster Springs to Theodore Clay and Delva Ware House. He was a lifelong resident of Webster County and a member of the First Baptist Church of Webster Springs. At a young age he was employed by Dairy Farm and Cutlip's Department Store. He retired from the coal mines after 37 years of service with Island Creek Coal Company and loved working on cars, boating, and enjoyed electronics. He loved spending time with his family and was known by his grandchildren as "Mr. Fix-It".

Retis is survived by his wife Betty J. Coffman House; sons Ronald (wife Carelene) House of Bolair and Larry Gene (wife Alice) House of Bolair; step-son Thomas Coffman of Webster Springs; daughters Lorene (husband Brent) Carpenter of Bolair and Linda (husband Brian) Andrews of Webster Springs; sisters Doris Lemley of Parkersburg and June Bright of Webster Springs; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Retis Junior House, Roger Clyde House, and Robert House; sisters Christine McCroskey, Maxine Roby, and Annie Wolfe; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Retis' life will be held at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs.
