Peggy Mallette

January 13, 1939 — August 5, 2015

Peggy Ann Mallette, 76 who was raised in Hacker Valley, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at CAMC – Memorial Hospital in Charleston.

Although she never had children of her own, she played a huge role in the lives of her nieces and nephews, and their children, whom she would babysit for and come to love as her own.  Her work at Hacker Valley Elementary endured her to many more children.  She was a member of the Hacker Valley United Methodist Church and had a special love for the young children in her Sunday school class.

Born January 13, 1939 at Hacker Valley, Peggy was the daughter of the late James Cannie and Georgie Bell (Light) Mallette.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Anderson, Raymond Mallette and Orie Mallette; sisters, Juanita Robinson, Clara Garvin, Bernice Mallette, Katherine Watson and Mildred Hamrick.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Bonnie Carpenter (husband, Russell); two sisters-in-law, Alma Anderson and Mava Johnson; two brothers, Robert “Bunkie” Mallette and Jimmy Mallette; and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

The family would like to thank the staff at Braxton Health Care Center, Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Braxton County EMS, Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, and everyone else who has provided many hours of loving care to our dear Peggy.

Services will be held on 2PM, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with nephew Mark Mallette and Pastor Alan Copenhaver officiating.  Burial will follow at Hacker Valley Cemetery, Hacker Valley.

Friends may join the family for visitation two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
