Paul Howell Thomas, 88 of Grafton, formerly of Webster County, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Taylor Health Center. He was born December 17, 1931 in Bergoo to the late James E. Thomas, Sr. and Mamie Ellen Turner.
He was a retired coal miner and a United States Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. Paul was Baptist by faith; a member of the Odd Fellows organization; loved cats and dogs, taking in many strays; and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers James E. Thomas, Jr. and Max Thomas, and sister Imajean Thomas McCord. Left to cherish his memory is his son Stephen P. Thomas of Grafton; daughter Diana Thomas of Morganton, NC; brother Porter Dale Thomas of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews; and many other extended family and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs, with Pastor Butch Rose officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial Contributions be made in Paul’s name to the Taylor County Humane Society, PO Box 243, Grafton, WV 26354.
