Paul Simmons

Delmos Paul Simmons, 80 of South Charleston, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Paul was born January 19, 1946, in Hacker Valley. He was a realtor for Runyan and Associates Realtors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Odos and Dorothy Simmons; twin sister Wilma Schmuck; sister Opal Bowyer and husband Wendell; brother-in-law Okey Silman; and brother-in-law Junior Silman.

Paul is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Linda Moore Simmons; daughter Kerry Drabish and husband Jeff; daughter Erin Grondalski and husband Andrew; stepdaughter Tina Wiseman and husband Steve; stepdaughter Mindy Rutherford and husband Ben; brother Loy Simmons and wife Lorraine; sister Goldie Silman; sister Velma Silman and husband Ted; sister Wanda Silman; sister Lillie Fitzgerald and husband Gary; sister Shirley Simmons; and brother-in-law Jim Schmuck. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren Meredith Frame, Amelia Frame, Matilda Grondalski, and Sarah Rutherford; lifelong fishing buddies Mike Hazel and Wayne Given; and many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services to celebrate Paul’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home in Webster Springs. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 12:00-1:00 pm, followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Graveside service will follow at Ware Cemetery in Hacker Valley.

Paul lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the outdoors, so in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holly River State Park and that friends and family cherish every day and remember that “Life is Good.”
