Patrick Skidmore

Pat Skidmore, 80 of Parcoal passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 31, 1932 in Webster Springs to Russell and Pearl Gibson Skidmore and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. He was a certified GM technician and after working for over 20 years as both a mechanic and service manager at White Chevrolet garage, he owned and operated his own businesses in Webster Springs and Cherry Falls. Pat took great pride in the many years he spent as a volunteer in the Webster Springs Fire Department. A lot of folks will remember him being one of the first on the scene when the call came in for help.
Pat will be forever loved and missed by his wife of over 61 years, Vaunda Lee Moffatt Skidmore "Little Pat" of Parcoal; son Rick (LouAnn) Skidmore of Tallmadge, OH; daughter Vanessa Bates of Houston, TX; son Rodney (Tammy) Skidmore of Parcoal; and son Ronald Skidmore of Parcoal; grandchildren Shelly (Mark) Stone, Melissa (Chris Averett) Bates, Curtis (Holly) Skidmore, and Kevin Bates; great-grandchildren Cody, Kelsey, Cameron, Carter, Riley, and Colton; brother Russell Skidmore, Jr. of Newport News, PA; sister Hazel Nazelroad of Newport News, VA; half-sister of Sheila Skidmore of Newport News, VA; and adopted sister Judy Cogar of Webster Springs.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Moll officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Parcoal.
