Arlin Arlie Carpenter, age 76 of Webster Springs passed away at his home on Saturday March 21, 2026.
Arlin was born December 19, 1949 in Webster Springs and was the son of Arlie & Imogene Carpenter. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War Rank Spec 4 Mos 11620 Infantry 4th class, where he served from June 1969-June 1971 with his final discharge in June 1975.
Arlin was a Christian by faith and lived his life in service for the Lord, setting the example of a true Soldier for God. He was the Pastor of Point Mountain Community Church for 37 years and the Guardian Church for 6 years.
Arlin was a talented musician and could play many stringed instruments, but his passion was for the guitar. He had written several songs in praise of the Lord. You would often see him with a guitar in hand and a song in his heart.
Arlin’s favorite pastime was sitting on the front porch reading his Bible, playing his guitar, enjoying the sun or the rain, the birds, the flowers, and watching friends and neighbors pass by with a toot of a horn and a wave of a hand.
Arlin’s love of the Lord, love of his family and love of life showed in the way he lived his life each day.
Arlin married the love of his life, Charleen, on November 14, 1971.
Arlin is survived by his children: Angie (Darrell) Beale and Tim (Lisa) Carpenter; Grandchildren: Wesley Beale, Casey (Matt) Kidd, Courtney Carpenter and Coty Carpenter; Great-Grandchildren: Parker Kidd and Charlee Kidd; Siblings: Ardings (Ruth) Carpenter, Donald (Linda) Carpenter, Derald Carpenter, Evelyn (Roger) Lynch, Keith (Linda) Carpenter, and Brent (Theresa) Carpenter; many very special nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
