Opal Faye Nichols, 102 of South Charleston passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Valley Center. She was born January 22, 1913 in Webster Springs to Grover C. and Anna Blanche Fornash Starcher and lived the majority of her life in Webster County. She was a licensed LPN and worked for Dr. Hunter and Dr. Edmiston at Webster County Memorial Hospital and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Webster Springs since 1942.
Opal is survived by her daughter Phyllis J. Nichols Morgan of St. Albans; sons Kenneth M. Nichols, Jr. of Weirton and William A. Nichols of Lady Lake, FL; brother-in-law Bill Mason of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law Marie Smith; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth Milton Nichols, Sr.; three brothers; and four sisters.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Opal's life will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Nichols and Rev. Steve White officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs.
