Oatis Kenneth "Kenny" Perkins, 76 of Webster Springs passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012 at his residence.  He was born August 10, 1936 in Parcoal to Otis M. and Nettie Stout Perkins, lived the majority of his life in Webster County, and was Baptist by faith.  He retired from the United States Army after serving over 21 years in the Armed Forces and spent 18 years in Florida where he worked as an Irrigation Specialist for Orlando International Airport.  Kenny was articulate and a perfectionist; there was nothing he could not do.  He never met a stranger and was a loving father to his children.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife Evelyn Sams Perkins; sons Oatis Kenneth Perkins Jr., Michael A. Perkins, and Keith Hill; daughters Carrise Rice and Sandra Hill Miller; brother Cloyd Perkins; sisters Shirley Perkins Marcum and Christine Perkins; 20 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Regina Gorda-Perkins; and sister Mary Louise Perkins Lynch.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Arlin Carpenter and Rev. Bennie Cowger officiating.  Interment will follow in Point Mountain Cemetery, Webster Springs.
