Myrtle Smith

Myrtle Gay Smith 75 of 105 Elk River Rd., Webster Springs, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2012 at her residence.  She was born Aug. 1, 1936 in Webster County, the daughter of the late Henry Lewis Brake and Virginia Alice Brake. She had lived all her life in Webster County, was a homemaker, and Pentecostal by faith.  She enjoyed walking and children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son:  Thomas Richard Brake and brother:  Don Brake. She is survived by her son:  Denzil Lewis Brake of Longbranch, NJ, daughters:  Sandra Kay Rodrigus of Longbranch, NJ, and Debra Stephenson of Summersville, WV, sisters:  Martha Brake of Akron, OH, and Mabel Dodrill of New Jersey, half brother:  George Henry Brake of Cowen, WV, half sister:  Mary Ann Smith of Cowen, WV, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services will be held Monday, May 28, 2012, 3:00 p.m. at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Doy Carpenter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs.  Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
