Monica Rose (Jordan) Cogar

Monica Rose (Jordan) Cogar, 60, of Webster Springs passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at CAMC General Division in Charleston.

Born January 16, 1965 in Sutton, she was the daughter of the late Montie Zane and Frances Ruth (Lake) Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Cogar.

Monica was a homebody and enjoyed just spending time at home with her dogs and crocheting. Although she would much rather stay in the comfort of her own home, she relished in talking on the phone to her family and friends on a daily basis. And she really enjoyed going to her family reunions.

Left to cherish her memories are her sister: Tammy McCoy, her husband, Shawn of Webster Springs, and her daughters and their children: Shawnda (Joshua) Ball of Virginia, and their children: Layla, Aaliyah, Shaylee, Jaxon, and Memphis; Samantha Young (Mike Brown) and their children: Jordan Young and Cullen Brown; Justina (David) Boggess and their children: Brantley and Houston; brother, Michael Jordan, and his wife, Chris of Cowen, and their sons: Ryan and Zane Jordan; and sister, Carla (Jeff) Wilson of Ohio, and their children: Anthony (Laura) Wilson and their daughter: Isla; Elana Wilson; and Preston Wilson; her companion of 24 years, Luke McCartney of Webster Springs; as well as other extended relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Services to celebrate Monica’s life will be held 1pm, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Bennie Cowger officiating. Friends may join her family for visitation one hour prior to the service from 12-1pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hamrick Cemetery.
