Mary Frances Snyder, 91 of Buckhannon entered into her heavenly home on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born December 2, 1923 in Webster Springs to Fleming and Lena Gregory Hamrick.
After retiring from the Federal Government in Washington DC, Mary made her home in Buckhannon. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and doing for others. She was a Godly woman who strived to serve Him throughout her daily living. Her greatest blessings in life were found in her faith, family and friends. She was a faithful member of Christian Fellowship Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mary is survived by her niece Beverly (Bob) Pazak; nephew Harold Hedrick; and great nephews David Pazak, Brandon Hedrick, Jim Cool, and Jeff Cool. In addition, others who played a special role in her life include Barbara and Henry Merriman; Ed, Janet, and Cora McDaniels and family; John and Jane Coprio; and dedicated care giver Judy Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Glen Hamrick; sisters Mabel Cool and Margaret Hedrick; and nephew George Cool.
The family extends a special thank you to St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing Care Facility and Holbrook Nursing Home for the exceptional care given to Mary while she resided with them.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 11:00 to 2:00 PM with an Order of the Eastern Star Ceremony at 1:00 PM. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ed McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in Point Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Christian Fellowship Church, PO Box 1198, Buckhannon, WV 26201 or to a charity of your choice.
