Marilyn Kaye Tanner of Diana, WV passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at CAMC- Memorial Division after a short illness.
Marilyn was sixty-one years old. She grew up and graduated from high school in Ohio; however, she moved to Webster County when she was eighteen years old and spent her adult years living and working in Webster and Braxton Counties. She worked as a waitress, cook, and caretaker for elderly and disabled people.
Marilyn had one son, Jeffery Tanner; and two granddaughters: Jhenna and Hailey Tanner. In addition, she is survived by one aunt, Rondlynn Cool; and several cousins including Randy Given , Ronnie McIntosh, Ralph Rockhold, Alfred Rockhold, Sheila Ware, Michael Cool, Sammie McIntosh, Debbie Neff, Wendy Hines, Bobby Cool, Timmy Rockhold, Sue Ann Perry, Terry Angelo, Rocky Rockhold, Burna Garvin, Shirley Hess, Crystal Brooks, James Rockhold, Anna Wong, and Jimmy Cool. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Lemon Carpenter and mother, Margie Ann (Ware) Carpenter; as well as her grandparents, Ola and Maude Ware.
A graveside service will take place 11 am, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Big Run Cemetery, Diana, with pastor Michael Cool officiating. Burial will follow.
