Margaret Davis, 73 of Mt. Hope, formerly of Webster Springs, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. She was born March 13, 1939 in Arcola to John and Melissia Sandy and was a homemaker and protestant by faith. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her friends. They will all miss her dearly.
Margaret is survived by her husband James Davis; daughters Richie (Alfred) Pugh of Webster Springs, Roxie Hochstein and companion Jimmy Schrader of Mt. Hope, Ann Davis and companion Shawn OHara of Mt. Hope, Florie Davis and companion Jason Young of Cowen, and Mary Davis and companion Shawn Bass of Mt. Hope; brother Alexander (Gladys) Sandy of Little Birch; sisters Amy Ware of Centralia, Plessa Cochran of Sutton, and Arietta Barker of Ohio; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Orivl Sandy, John "Buck" Sandy, Harding Sandy, and Jesse Sandy; and sister Roxie Propts.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Glady Dech, Uvonne Smith, Leo Rogers, Florance Culter, Janie Cogar, and Joe Harris for the wonderful care they gave to Margaret; a very special thank you to Margaret's dear special friend Dr. Mace for taking care of her in a kind way every time she needed him; and a special thank you to the Bower's Hospice House. The care Margaret received there was exceptional. The family cannot express enough thanks for all who cared for their mother during her time of illness. They may not be able to list everyone here but no one has been forgotten who has cared so much.
