Lucille (Lucy) G. McCoy, 80, of Elyria, OH died peacefully Sunday, February 27,2011 following a long suffering with Parkinson's Disease, in Raleigh, NC where she had been cared for by her daughter. Ms. McCoy was born June 5, 1930 in Webster Springs, West Virginia to the late Clarence Ward and Bertha M. Baughman Gillespie, the fifth child of what would be ten children.

In 1950, she worked as a Comptroller for an insurance company in Washington DC.

She moved to Elyria in 1953 where she worked briefly for General Industries. She attended Kent State University and graduated from Elyria Cosmetology in 1963. She was a Receptionist at Higbee's beauty salon when Midway Mall opened in 1965. In 1966, she finished first in her aviation Ground School class. She began working at General Motors - Fisher Body Division, Elyria in 1967 as a Press Operator and retired as a Floor Inspector in 1986.

She never met a stranger and had many friends across the country. She loved calculating and interpreting Astrological Birth Charts for friends and strangers, as well as helping detectives find missing persons with her skills.

She attended several national conventions of the American Federation of Astrologers.

She is survived by a son, J. Michael McCoy of Louisville, KY; daughter, Suetta J. McCoy of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Helen Hufford, Pulaski VA, Sammie (Bob) Allman, Buckhannon WV; and Caroline (Melvin)Cochran, Webster Springs WV; brother David M. Gillespie, Frostburg MD.

She was preceded in death by a sister, W. Louise Varney, and brothers, Eugene H. Gillespie, E. James Gillespie, Paul Felix Gillespie and E. Bernard Gillespie. Bernard, 79, just passed on Monday, February 21, 2011.

Services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home in Webster Springs, WV, with Rev. Marty Cowger officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Webster Springs, WV. Friends may call on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 10 am to 11 am.
