Lucealie Gillespie, 82 of Hacker Valley passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter. She was born June 3, 1934 in Webster County to the late Hillard and Lena Simmons Cowger and was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, crafting, and spending time with her grandkids.

Lucealie is survived by her son Richard “Cares” (Teri) Gillespie; two sons that she raised Bruce Massey and James Wyre; daughters Judy (Dave) Jeffries, Nora (Gerald) Cutlip, and Paula Campbell; grandchildren Richard Gillespie, II, Jackson Gillespie, Chasity Bender, Chrystal Cottrill, Gerald Lynn Cutlip, II, Derrick Cutlip, Courtney Martiny, David Massey, Brittany Massey, Tiffany Winchester, Brian Massey, Lynne Massey, and Keith Massey; and 22 great-grandchildren; brothers Columbus, Newton, Arnel, and Denzil Cowger; and sister Pauline Jordan; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Lucealie’s life will be held on Sunday at 12:00 noon at the Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Cosner and David Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in Replete Cemetery.
