Lowell P. Carpenter, 71 of Webster Springs passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. He was born April 24, 1943 in Webster Springs to Allen and Frances Cowger Carpenter and was a coal miner for many years. A lifelong resident of Webster County he attended Fountain of Life Church as well as several other churches in the area. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, feeding the birds and squirrels, having a cup of coffee on the front porch, gardening, and building rock walls. He did not like sitting around and was always working or busy at something. He was a people person and thoroughly enjoyed helping his neighbors.

Lowell is survived by his wife Beulah Clutter Carpenter of Webster Springs; daughters Linda Kay Carpenter and Brenda (husband Tom) Rule, both of Webster Springs; brother Frank (wife Sue) Carpenter of Lorain, OH; grandchildren Chelsea (husband Steven) Nickoson, Misty Rule, and Valerie Rule; great-grandson Cameron Nickoson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Zola Payne.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, February 6, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Rounds and Pastor Lonnie Casto officiating. Interment will follow in Clifton Ford Cemetery, Webster Springs.
