Leoma Hamrick

October 26, 1925 — February 28, 2016

Leoma Loucilla Hamrick, 90 of Asheboro, NC, previously of Webster Springs, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Clapp’s Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. She was born October 26, 1925 in Webster Springs to Allen and Mary Payne Green and was Pentecostal by faith. She loved gardening, until two years ago when her health would not allow her to continue, canning, sewing, playing cards, working puzzles, and playing dominoes. She worked at the original Custard Stand for many, many years.

Leoma is survived by her daughter Ella Jane (James) Spencer; grandchildren Jeff Lyke of Webster County and Mike Spencer of Colorado Springs, CO; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Mack Green of Webster Springs; and sisters Lenora Clutter and Retha Grimes, both of Webster Springs, and Carol Utt of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Dana Jack Hamrick; grandson Tony Triplett; and brothers and sisters Orlando Green, Eva Carpenter, Reba Carden, Heston Green, Clinton Green, Delores McIe, and Brant Green.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Leoma’s life will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Rounds officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin.
