Lela Florence Miller, 101 of Webster Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 03, 2014 at her home. She was born November 21, 1913 in Bolair to John Henry and Ellen Lee Walker Woods and lived the majority of her life in Webster County. She was a member of Sand Run Missionary Baptist Church and the WV Association of Retired School Employees. She was a cook for many years in the Webster County School System, Webster County Memorial Hospital, and many restaurants throughout the County. She loved cooking, sewing, crafting, going to yard sales, and gardening. She loved having company and talking with everyone, telling stories of what she had seen and done during her lifetime. She loved the holidays and was known for dressing up on Halloween and hanging blue Christmas lights around her house during the Christmas season.

Lela is survived by her son Jack (wife Dreama) Miller of Madison; daughters Anna (husband Al) Lehman and Martha McCourt (friend Alan) of Webster Springs; step-son Virgil (wife Susan) Miller of Buckhannon; half-sisters Golda Harrison of Cowen and Anna Walker of Warren, OH; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Virgil E. Miller; sons Charles and Jesse Miller; daughter Stella Riffle; brother Lonzo Woods; half-brother Lando Woods; grandsons Raymond Knight, Darryl McCourt, and Mark Miller; granddaughter Shelia Belmont; great-grandson Curt Riffle; and great-great-grandson Corey Riffle.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Lela's life will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with her son Jack Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Hammon Cemetery, Camden-on-Gauley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph's Hospital, 1 Amalia Drive, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
