Laura Belle Bankhead, 86 of Diana went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2013 at her home. She was born November 28, 1926 in Webster Springs to Rafuel and Elvrie Baldwin Lough and was a homemaker. She spent most of her life in Webster County, living in Ohio for the last several years with her family. She was Baptist by faith and enjoyed being active in her church, spending time with her friends and family, reading, gardening, and planting flowers.
Laura is survived by her sons Steven (Carol) Bankhead, Roy Bankhead, Darrell Bankhead, and John Bankhead; daughters Carol (Patrick) Balser, Alice (David) Pugh, and Donna Kimble; brother Delbert Lough; sisters Shirley McQuain and Carolyn Hall; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Bankhead; parents; brothers James Lough and Gordon Lough; infant brother Paul Lough; infant sister Lorene Lough; sister Rose Marie Lough; and grandson Zachery Balser.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 11:00 to 12:00 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 with her sons Steven and Darrell Bankhead officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Grassy Creek Road, Webster Springs.
