Kenneth Darrell Cowger, 75 of Shinnston, formerly of Four States and Hacker Valley, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023.  Kenny was born March 28, 1948,1948, in  in Webster Springs and was the son of the late Okey and Sylvia Jordan Cowger.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Karen Smith Cowger.

Kenny attended TLC Ministries in Worthington.  He was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA Local 31 and had previously worked in the saw mill at Hacker Valley.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on guns, reloading ammo and liked to tinker on engines.

Surviving are his daughter, Twana Cowger, grandson,  Gabriel Sturm; sisters, Wilma Jean (Dempsey) Carpenter and Katherine (Paul Junior) Anderson; loving companion,  Anna Lanham, her children, Phillip Lanham, Victoria Watkins, Jennifer Levinsky and Jacquelyn Flowers; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. 

Service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday,  October 24, 2023 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs with Pastor Sabrina Haught and Pastor Danny Booth officiating.  Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery,  Replete.  Friends may join the family for visitation 5-8 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
