Kenneth Carson

Kenneth R. Carson, 73 of Webster Springs passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Summersville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1940 in Gauley Bridge to Paul and Vivian Louise Ward Carson and was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1959 to 1961. He was a retired coal miner for Cannelton Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA District 17.
Kenneth is survived by his daughters Nadine Kay Kursey of Boone County, step-daughters Patricia Hartwell of Boone County, Mamie McMichen of Gallagher, and Sherry Lovejoy of Elkridge; step-son Tommy Akers of Mt. Carbon; brother Paul Jackson Carson of Florida; sisters Marge Cooper and Nancy Anderson both of Webster Springs and Gladys Wright of Florida; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Annajean Akers Carson; parents; brother Jimmie Lee Carson; sister Nellie Elizabeth Dorsey; step-daughter Deloris Proudfoot; and one grandchild.
Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs. Family Services provided by Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.
