Kathleen Stone

June 17, 1945 — April 13, 2016

Kathleen Ann (Neff) Stone, 70 of Diana, passed away on April 13, 2016 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.  She was born June 17, 1945 in Elyria, Ohio to Willis Neff (deceased) and Marge (Armbruster) Neff of Carl Junction, MO.

Kathy graduated from Buckeye High School in Valley City, OH, and from Cleveland Cosmetology School. She was a licensed cosmetologist in the State of Ohio. She worked in the office at Bliss & Laughlin Steel in Medina, OH where she met her husband John. She moved to Virginia and retired after serving 20 years as a Deputy Clerk for the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

She loved civil war reenacting with the 28th Virginia and the 2nd Battalion, ANV, and she loved her horses. She also liked cooking and baking and was famous for her butterscotch cake. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting and crafts.

She was married to John R. Stone for over 45 years, and has 3 children, Court A. (Tabitha) Stone, Ida J. Stone, and John R. Stone,III (deceased).  Her brothers are Gary (Linda) Neff, of Carl Junction, MO,  Thomas (Mary) Neff (deceased) of Valley City OH, and sisters, Annette (Wayne) Dunn, of Valley City, OH, Mindy (Dale) Reed, of Carrollton OH, and Judy (Ken) Benner, of Strongsville, OH. She has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends may join the family for visitation from 6-9 PM, Sunday April 17, 2016 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, Webster Springs with Celebrant Fr. Quy N. Dang.

Donations may be made to the St. Anne’s Ladies Guild, c/o St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 160 McGraw Ave, Webster Springs, WV, 26288, the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311 or to a charity of your choice.
