John Cochran

March 16, 1942 — October 23, 2015

John A. Cochran, 73, of Craigsville, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at his home.

Born March 16, 1942 in Diana, he is the son of the late Bert and Audrey Evalea (Riffle) Cochran.  He was a coal miner and a member of the Alderson Baptist Church in Craigsville.  John loved listening to Bluegrass music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, John Albert Cochran, Jr. and Wesley Allen Cochran; grandson, Corey Bragg; brothers, Homer Cochran, Jake Cochran and Frank Cochran; and his sisters, Rosalee Cochran, Sarah Hamrick, June Enix and Jenny Cutlip.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia “Patti” (McCourt) Cochran of Craigsville; daughters, Leamoint Bragg (husband, Dickie) and Evalea Beckstrom (husband, Gary); step-son, John Sablotny of NM; step-daughters, Sofia Swope and Sonia Marcum (husband, Dave), both of NC; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Bill Cochran (wife, Rita) Of Burnsville; sister, May Clutter of OH; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, with Pastor Eddie Groves officiating.  Burial will follow at Big Run Cemetery, Guardian.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday night from 6-9 at the funeral home.
