Janice Hamrick, 89 of Webster Springs, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Webster County Memorial Hospital. She was born November 11, 1924 in Bergoo to Rev. Roland B. and Ida Hamrick Stalnaker and lived the majority of her life in Webster County, formerly living in Lorain, Ohio. She was Christian by faith being raised up in the Union Mission Churches her father Pastored. She enjoyed dancing, going to garage sales, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her husband Stanley Hamrick of Webster Springs; sons Robert McCourt of Cleveland, OH and Joey (wife Gudy) McCourt of Las Vegas, NV; daughters Charlotte Ann McClarty of Clover, SC, Rosalie Cogar and Kathy Phillips, both of West Salem, OH, and Karen Haj of Colorado; grandchildren Brandon, Danielle, Robert, Patrick, Orlando, Lisa, Robert, Scottie, Becky, Kim, Bill, Joe, Samira, and Adel; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Leslie, Ivan, Owen, Chester, and Crawford Stalnaker; and sisters Doris Jenkins, Sylvia Taylor, and Opal Stalnaker.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Janice's life will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bennie Cowger officiating. Interment will follow in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin.
