James "Jon" Butcher

James Arnold “Jon” Butcher, 37 of Salem, formerly of Webster Springs, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at his home. He was born April 2, 1980 in Webster Springs to Shelvie Jean Conrad Clevenger and was an equipment operator and owner of Jon Butcher Enterprises. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and volunteering for the Webster Springs Volunteer Fire Department. He was an outstanding athlete and loved sports. He was a simple man and a man of few words. Jon’s greatest joy was being a daddy to his four children and helping others.
Jon is survived by his wife Cristi Boone Butcher; dad Kenny Clevenger; children Jamie Renae, Hadley Erin, Kathryn Grace, and Samuel James Butcher; sisters Heather (husband Richard) Dennison and Kristen (husband Frank) Hamrick; grandpa Sonny Conrad; and many friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandma Wilma Conrad.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Jon’s life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Clifton Ford Cemetery, Webster Springs.
