James "Jim" Edward Steiding, 78 of Mt. Clare, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born February 10, 1934 in Oakland, MD to Lester and Montie Marie Steiding. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and riding 4-wheelers. He retired from the Robinson Run Coal Mine in 1993. He was always there to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.
Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Lee Lough Steiding; children Beverly Steiding Fontaine and husband Jock, Mark and wife Kim, Paul and wife Teddy, Jimmy and wife Cindy, and Philip and wife Donna; they also parented George and Beth; grandchildren Shannon Fontaine, Natasha Steiding, Jessica Steiding, Teth Pieffley, and Kagen Steiding; great-grandchildren Landon, Marcus, and Tyson; sisters Janet, Norma, and Mary; and brother Lester. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Harold, Donald, and Melvin; sister Helen; daughter Rebecca Steiding; and granddaughter Angel Steiding. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, beloved pugs, and neighbors.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 11:00 to 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, 155 McGraw Avenue, Webster Springs. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Sherman Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in Point Mountain Cemetery.
