James Popovich

James Nelson Popovich 76 of Pomona, CA formerly of Webster Springs, WV departed this life on April 17, 2021 at the home of his son Richard in Garden Valley, CA.

Jim was born May 19, 1944 to the late Steve and Mary Carpenter Popovich of Webster Springs, WV.

He Graduated Webster Springs High School CLASS of 1962. Upon Graduation he attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and in 1963 lea ving for Ontario, CA to attend CAL POLY-TECH Pomona studying Chemical Engineering.

In 1964 Jim joined the United States Marine Corp and after Basic Training was Deployed to Vietnam to serve as Field Radio Operator, Dispatcher Radio. In 1967 Jim was promoted to the Rank of SGT, continuing to serve until his Honorable Discharge in 1970.

Besides his parents Jim was preceded in death by two Brothers;  Joby Speer and John Popovich.

He leaves behind two Sons, Richard Norman Popovich (Jeannette) of Garden Valley, CA and Robert Steven Popovich (Deborah) of San Jose, CA two Grandchildren that he adored -Richard Norman II (Duece) and Nikova Lynn (Nikki) Popovich and many cousins,

A Committal and Interment Service will take place at the Miller Cemetery on Friday, December 10, 2021  11:AM with Pastor Brandon Moll Officiating where Military Funeral Honors will be afforded.
