James "Eddie" Holcomb, 65 of Webster Springs passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Webster County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born May 07, 1949 in Webster County to Rev. Russell and Susan Victoria Carpenter Holcomb and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. He retired from the coal mines after many years of service, enjoyed hunting, and attended Jumbo Community Church.

Eddie is survived by his wife Donnie McCoy Holcomb; sons Travis Holcomb of Webster Springs and Rodney (wife Shaela) McCoy of Beckley; grandchildren Isrealia, Jordan, Jasmine, Lacey, Kya McCoy, David Mosier, and Rayevyn Holcomb; sister Phyllis Lewis of Joppa, MD; brothers Richard Holcomb, William Holcomb both of Havre de Grace, MD, and Thomas Holcomb of Port Deposit, MD; half-brother David Holcomb; and five half-sisters Leanne Holcomb, Jacqueline Vandevender, Shawnda Holcomb, Loretta Holcomb, and April Riffle-Holland. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Patricia Taylor, Pamela Holcomb, and Mary Hash; and four brothers Harry, Paul, John, and Jack Holcomb.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate Eddie's life will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Interment will follow in McCoy Cemetery.
